Traditional avial takes time in cutting different type of
vegetables. This is a single vegetable avial with the easily
available vegetable the Bhendi. I have chopped how we chop for thoran, you can chop the bhendi one in ch pieces for this avial. Easy, tasty avial in minutes.
The thing we hate about bhendi is the sliminess, this avial is not slimy at all. Only full of taste. Try this today.
INGREDIENTS:
Bhendi, chopped - 250 grams
Onion, chopped -1
Green chillies, slit- 2-3
Coconut, grated- 1 cup
Turmeric- ¼ teaspoon
Chilli powder- ½
teaspoon
Coriander powder- ¼ teaspoon
Salt- to taste
oil- 5 teaspoon
oil- 5 teaspoon
PROCEDURE:
- Grind coconut, turmeric, chilli powder and coriander powder as a coarse paste.
- In a pan add 3 teaspoons of oil, and when the oil is hot add bhendi, onion, green chillies, salt and sauté in high flame till cooked well.
- Add the ground paste with bhendi . Sprinkle some water and allow to cook for 2 minute by constant stirring.
- When the added water fully evaporates add a teaspoon of oil (optional) and curry leaves.
- Note: When you stirfry bhendi keep the flame on high to avoid becoming the bhedi slimy.
- Only sprinkle little water less than quarter cup if your ground masala is dry. If the ground masla is wet no need to add water.
