Blueberries are rich in antioxidants. This antioxidants get damaged while cooking process so i prefer to consume it raw to get the goodness of this fruit. So no cook recipes are best to preserve all the nutrients present in it. So thought of making a smoothie out of it. Finally it turned out super tasty and double healthy with the addition of flax seed powder.
Flax seed is another healthy ingredient which is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. This is good fat which have been shown to heart healthy effects. Lignans which have plant esterogen as well as antioxidant properties. It is rich in Fiber.
The bananas are heart friendly as they are rich in potassium. Potassium is essential to protect the cardiovascular system. So this single cup smoothie is rich in antioxidants, omega fatty acids, potassium and fiber. The banana adds volume and make the smoothie so filling.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Makes: 1 tall glass.
INGREDIENTS:

- Add the flax seed in a blender jar and powder it; set aside.
- Blend well to make a smoothie. Add a cup of boiled chilled milk if you feel the smoothie is thick.
- Consume immediately as we have added flax seed powder in it.
- Serve chilled.
- Note: I kept the banana inside the freezer for one hour and used to make this smoothie.
- You could replace the flax seed powder with powdered oats too.
