Strawberry Parfait which could be served as a dessert or a breakfast. So easy to make and healthy as well. I have used whole wheat diet flakes and chopped nuts in this recipe you could replace it with your favourite cereal or cereal bars or museli of your choice. For colour contrast i used kiwi you could use any fruit of your choice. You could drizzle little strawberry syrup on top of creamy layer if you serve this as a dessert. You could skip cereals and could make just with creamy layer and with fruits and honey or syrup of your choice. Hope this dessert suits well Valentines Day! Strawberry Kiwi Parfait recipe

INGREDIENTS:
Strawberries-8 nos
Kiwi-1
Honey| strawberry syrup- 1 tablespoon
Cornflakes| Muesli|Snack bars- I used diet whole grain oats with some chopped nuts- 1/2 cup
Hung yogurt-1 cup
Whipping cream- 1 cup
Powdered sugar- 1/4 cup



PROCEDURE:

  • Add about two cups of thick yogurt in a muslin or cotton cloth and tie well; allow to drain the water for 30 minutes. Squeeze well to drain excess water; set aside.
  • Whip the cream using electric beater, once it reaches soft peaks add the powdered sugar and beat well. Add the hung yogurt and beat well till it reaches stiff peak stage.
  • Remove the leaf and stem from the strawberries; peel the kiwi and chop them them both. Add the 1-2 tbsp of honey to coat the fruits; set aside.
  • Roughly break the cornflakes and mix some chopped nuts like almonds or walnuts.
  • In a serving glass add a dollop of yogurt and cream mixture then layer with some flakes and then top it with some honey coated juicy fruits.
  • Repeat the layering twice or thrice as you wish.
  • Note: Health continuous people can avoid cream and can only use hung yogurt for this dessert.
  • You could skip cereal and add extra strawberry syrup to make it a rich tasty dessert.
