Ganesh Chathurthi special pidi kozhukattai -sweet version. This is an easy to make kozhukatti in minutes with limitted ingredients and no skill is required to make this kozhukattai. You can make the kids to roll the kozhukattai once you make the mixture ready for kozhukattai.
I have not made this kozhukatai before this version was tasty quick and filling snack for the evening or for the pooja. Simple when compare to the traditional version yet a delicious snack to relish!
INGREDIENTS:
Raw Rice flour- 1 cup (roasted rice flour is not required if you have you could use)
Jaggery- 1/2 cup
Water-1 and 1/2 cups
Coconut- 3 tablespoons
Cardamom powder- big pinch
PROCEDURE:

Coconut- 3 tablespoons
Cardamom powder- big pinch
PROCEDURE:
- If your jaggery is not pure grate the jaggery and dissolve in water and strain the jaggery water before cooking or make a syrup and then strain it.
- If the jaggery is pure add the jaggery and water in a pan and melt to make a syrup. Once the syrup starts to bubble add the rice flour and cardamom powder and mix well.
- Allow to cook this mixture by constant stirring to avoid lumps. Within minutes the mixture starts to come together and form a mass.
- Now add the coconut and mix well and switch off the flame and allow the mixture to cool.
- Slightly cover with a lid (to prevent the mixture get dried up)
- When the mixture is warm grease your hands slightly and pinch a lemon sized mixture and roll inside your hand and form a cylindrical shaped dumplings and press with fingers to get the impressions.
- Arrange the dumplings on the idli stand or any steamer plate.
- Heat water in a idli steamer once it comes to rolling hot keep the stand with kozhukatti and steam for about 10 minutes till the kozhukattai gets a shine on the surface.
