When I first came across this recipe, I kept asking myself thinking how would mint blend with prawns??. But it seems that the recipe really works. The mint gives a meaty taste to the prawns. This is a fine accompaniment for dosa, idli, rice and chapati.


INGREDIENTS
Prawn-250gms
Mint leaves-1cup
Curry leaves-1sprig
Onion (chopped)-1
Tomato (chopped)-1
Ginger garlic paste- 2 teaspoons
Chilli powder-2 teaspoons
Coriander powder-2 teaspoons
Fennel-1teaspoon
Cinnamon bark-1
Roasted groundnut- ½ cup
Salt- to taste
Oil-3teaspoons

PROCEDURE
  • Marinate the prawn with turmeric and salt.
  • In a shallow pan add oil, fennel seeds, cinnamon and curry leaves. Then add onion and cook till it turns translucent pink. Add tomato and cook for sometime. Then add ginger garlic paste, mint leaves, prawn and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  •  Add chilli powder, coriander powder and sprinkle little water. Cook till the mixture becomes almost dry. Finally powder the peanuts coarsely and add with this prawn mixture and mix well before turning off the gas.
